When I was In 3rd grade I read a book called β€œThe Sign of The Beaver.” What stuck out to me was that a young boy like myself built a bow and hunted for his own food. That started me on my obsession with building bows and hunting to provide for myself. I began building survival bows and eventually found a bowyer who would teach me. I began trapping rabbits and hunting small game, but a whitetail buck was my ultimate goal. I hunted for four years before I finally killed my first deer with a longbow and it was by far the most rewarding thing I have ever done.

In college I met my wife and we made a shared plan to provide as much of our food from the land as possible. We moved to Alaska in order to chase that dream. I became a trapper and dog handler for extra cash and spent all my time learning about the animals of Alaska and hunting and fishing for our food. We live a simple, close to the earth, lifestyle in small town south of the Kenai River.

My love for archery and building bows never left me and I have been making bows for my friends and to hunt with for the past 16 years.

Now my passion is sharing my love for archery and the outdoors with others through my YouTube videos and bow building workshops.
